Phoronix: Castle Game Engine 6.0 Released

Castle Game Engine is yet another open-source cross-platform game engine. What separates this game engine from others is that interestingly it's written in Object Pascal...

C++ as a object oriented C is OK, but Object Pascal as an object oriented Pascal is not?
TurboPascal and modern FreePascal/ObjectPascal/(even Delphi) are very different beasts.

C++ is a lot more than "object oriented C". The comparison would be fair with object C.

My wording may have been simplified, but the comparison is still fair ... FreePascal/ObjectPascal also offers a lot more than just object orientation.
Point being: it's no less a modern language than C++ is, and nobody even raises an eyebrow when a new engine is released with focus on C++. Just because the language contains the word "PASCAL" doesn't mean "it's that old, outdated language I learned 20 years ago in university".

Actually together with the IDE Lazarus (and the accompanying LCL) it's one of the best tools for cross platform native GUI development. (IMHO)

*High school maybe. Here they still teach TurboPascal in some high schools but back then it was prevalent.

That said, the old Pascal still lives in industrial automation as "structured language" for programming PLCs (standard IEC 61131-3).
