        Excellent1 which compositor use LXQt!? Based on Qt it sholdl be wayland.

            Sadly they still use Openbox as their out of the box window manager. So all their apps are in Qt, except the desktop itself. IIRC their plan was to start using KWin at some point.

              Wayland isn't a compsitor, it's a protocol. Weston is their default compositor, but it's really basic. Kwin would be a much better option as the KDE folks are doing the heavy lifting already.

                AFAIK kwin developer is planning to make kwin compilable with qt only. However wayland support comes first so it might take some time for lxqt to bless kwin as default if ever.

                  What does that mean? Surely it can not mean that kwin will not be able to handle GTK applications.

                    what means "kwin compilable with qt only" and what does that have to do with lxqt blessing kwin?
