      Good. That just leaves me baffled as to your mentioning SSE4.2 so specifically. No, no need to actually explain. My befuddlement is mostly rhetorical in nature.

        well as you can see in the phoronix graphs Clear Linux compiles for "westmere" by default, which gets you that instruction set. (2010 era instruction set, SSE4.2 level)
