Lots of phoronix readers/commenters will be happy to hear.

Will this pre-authorization allow Steam Input on Wayland without a popup nag? I believe SteamOS and Bazzite use something called extest to work around that, will it become obsolete?

Make the close icons be black X symbols

Black is is a more correct color (closing windows and tabs isn't destructive, so it shouldn't use the red color), and omitting the circle makes it match the default window decoration icon and feel lighter and breezier.
I disagree about closing Windows and Tabs being destructive. How destructive closing can be is very contextual because it depends on how well a program will prompt to save or will automatically save and restore upon closing. If you close a notification too fast or misclick in a program you might not get what you were working on back. When scrolling windows up by clicking the scroll bar I have a bad habit of not unclicking until I'm over the close button and I've lost a lot of shit because of it.

I prefer Red Close buttons. IMHO, the various Control buttons should be colored by default with the option to black them out for advanced users. I know all that color risks getting an XP Fisher Price look, but at the same time those colors are helpful. Not everyone has great enough eyes to find the black X on the semi-dark background. Themed and colored buttons is just visual accessibility for people with bad eye sight, beginners and new users, and could give more theme and customization options for those that tweak their system.

Who cares if it's lighter and breezier if that comes at the expense of being more visually inaccessible? Lighter and more inaccessible should be an option, not the default.

Nate has been an excellent leader in KDE project. Thank you, Nate! ... and, of course, all contributors to KDE.

Even the X in the screenshot does not have the same top and right margin…

I think that difference depends of title bar height and there is no rule that those margins need to be equal. At least, looks totally ok to me.

True, but I don't know why. In my windows they all have the right margin.
Maybe he changed some window settings for himself.

The good news is that this is KDE, which means you're entirely free to grab a theme that changes the close icons to be whatever you want

I use a Window Decoration theme called Klassy that lets you set the margins, has color coded window icons, and more. I just wish that KDE/Breeze did what it does by default.
