    Don't take it for granted. They'll remove support for it within 5-10 years like every project does in this day and age of forced deprecation.

      Huh? Development lives on in release branches for old hardware. For example, 4.11_branch is still in use for Bay Trail (Atom) and Broadwell-DE (Xeon-D) products.
