I ran Trinity for a while and it really is a wonderful desktop environment. It feels dated but also solid and functional. It is an especially good choice for low-resolution screens, like 1366x768 and below.

I wonder why Michael informs us of releases for several alternative desktop environments like this one (or XFCE, or Enlightenment) but never about Budgie. 10.5.3 got out a few days ago, and 5 months ago 10.5.2 wasn't reported either. It likely has more users than this one.
I'm wondering if there a particular reason (not following their channels, feud, dislike)?

Maybe because these are minor releases? Maybe because they contain very little outside of bugfixes? Maybe because if Michael starts writing news about each minor release Phoronix becomes meh? Maybe because there are 1.5 people using Budgie?

I don't know, when comparing release notes, it doesn't really look bigger or with more new features than Budgie 10.5.3.
Anyway, I'm just wondering and there's no harm done. In any case, I'm glad he's writing about Trinity here, or Enlightenment or any DE really, it's always interesting and it could trigger users to try them and find happiness.

FWIW, I have a perma-seed of Solus-Budgie that suggests that 1.5 people is a "slight" underestimation (even it was tongue in cheek). Not meant as a promotion, just a statement of fact (even if the plural of anecdote is not data).

As an aside, the Solus Budgie edition is by *far* the most popular spin measured by downloads alone (followed by KDE, MATE and GNOME Shell in that order).

I wonder on how this environment will handle Wayland. I have fond memories of KDE 3.5.x but the lack of composition was a bit annoying.
