interesting read - seems i have to switch to MATE in buster for my x2go sessions.

I've never really had much luck using anything but VNC over a VPN. I tried all sorts of things including x2go, xpra, and even an RDP server that I can't remember the name of.

What kind of VPN? Because it seems to me that there was some firewalling too going on right there.
