Does proton make use of libd3dadapter9-mesa state-tracker for Direct3D9 ? I noticed it and the dev file were added to Oibaf's ppa the other day. Or is it just wine?
It has not yet been added to the Padoka ppa.

Its good to see that Valve are using the latest implementation of WINE.

I have tested Proton 3.16 beta today and found that it has a noticeable performance improvement over 3.7-8 beta that I was previously using. Also some of the games that previously failed to launch are now running, but without sound or music. I think this was due to the improvements made to WINE of how it handled DX9.

That stream output vulkan extension was too important to make a lot of games work so they had to track upstream, maybe we'll see slower pace now that it is available.

Afaik not at the moment. Community is too torn on whether Nine is a good thing or not and Valve doesn't seem convinced yet. Mesa Nine support should be present in Flatpak as well
