It has to do with of a moment in time once something get metamorphosed to something else DanL does not agree when i say that W is 10 years old, as he like to count it from the time when first release with an stable API happened

I was mainly wondering if it meant X11 became mature *because* of its successor Wayland. Now Wayland cannot mature until its replacement is made...

Yes, it is quite possible that prince could learn to be a king from other princes X also get improvments in these last 10 years.

Well, even capable prince usually can't become a king until king is dead, preferably naturally. Otherwise, it would be interesting to see what tricks we will invent or use to faster kill a king

We can use marketing, we can use lies, we can push things... and what else?

We can also post gibberish full of smileys.

If you count development releases too, then you'd have to add months or even years to most other software too, even the Linux kernel as posted in the mailing list wasn't 100% written that day (even if it was just a proof of concept and technically still a developmental release).

Yes, that is only thing we can honestly do

Distros who like W so much were free to ban X altogehter, for many many years now. No one stops them, so why these does not did that already?

Simple don't package it and that is it, mission accomplished - just use W and that is it

Don't worry, W will soon appear as ancient teenager with sexy mustaches

Maybe W should change logo to artifical mustaches "Every Teenage - Mustache Perfect" that might gain more tractions

The sooner people embrace Epiphany as it matures with WebKit 2 and userspace features I would expect fewer people to use Firefox on Linux.

Well, as you can see from original post by Michael, part of the reason Wayland isn't there yet is that X wasn't killed including XWayland and X11 allowing application developers to be lazy and paranoid of new things
