Phoronix: AMDVLK Driver Gets Fixed For Rise of the Tomb Raider Using Application Profiles

With last week's release of Rise of the Tomb Raider on Linux ported by Feral Interactive, when it came to Radeon GPU support for this Vulkan-only Linux game port the Mesa RADV driver was supported while the official AMDVLK driver would lead to GPU hangs. That's now been fixed...

Are there any workarounds for The Witcher 3 with Wine+dxvk and AMDVLK?

Would something like this impact the visual quality of the game?

Since the workaround is enabling on-chip geometry support, no it shouldn't.

Why is it disabled by default requiring it to be enabled by option?

An application specific workaround in the driver is very smelly. For a brand new API this should never be needed.

Because everything is disabled by default, if you look at other game profiles there you would also ask why si-scheduler is disabled by default and why also disk cache is disabled by default too isn't it

Where do you see workarounds there, it just enable here and there what is disabled by default

so this is the game's fault and not of the driver or the standard ?

In this case though the application is not doing anything wrong.
                    Correct?
