rsync is not a library, who cares about its license?

That is an opinion and definitely not fact. Prhaps incompatible at worst, but Upstart and OpenRC had already fixed much of that anyway. It's a moot argument based solely on opinion. Fine as long as you're willing to admit that.

that idiot can't use freebsd because freebsd is more "monolithic" (developed in one repo) than systemd

Never really been a fan of pulseaudio, it's a hackjob. Systemd however as much as people want to hate on it, is pretty good. But I'm just not seeing what's new about this casync, why do it? Boredom?

So how do you switch between BT speakers, multiroom audio, and USB DACs when using alsa? Without terminating your apps? Just curious.

Pretty please with bits and bytes on top, try to leave other lennart stuff ouf the the discussion and focus on casync. It seems people hate casync just because lennart wrote it, look at what it does for crying out loud and let's discuss that instead! Somebody please show me how to replicate casync with rsync , dd and truncate to prove that casync is not needed. Anybody???
