  • Bad advertising behavior

I signed up for the forum just so I could mention this. I know you don't directly select the advertisers, but I've seen this a few times now. When reading an article, it redirects to a page that looks like this (in the same window, not as a new tab - it takes over the tab that I was reading the article in).

Yes, that is trying to get me to download and run an executable.

This is bad - really, really bad. You need to reconsider your advertising service.

I had whitelisted phoronix in my ad blocker, and have gone back and forth a couple times now because of things like this. But this is it. Until this is resolved, my adblocker will be on.

What location are you connecting from? Useful to know for trying to figure out what ad network it might be from if you don't happen to have a URL. Obviously when these few rogue ads are reported, they get removed.

Thanks, should be getting it blocked today hopefully if it's from the network I think it is.
