So, RT kernels in modern distros...
I use Debian Stable with a bunch of packages from jessie-backports. This way at least drivers (kernel+mesa) and a few other things (LibreOffice, Firefox) are roughly updated.
I don't know why I didn't see it before: in the jessie-backports repo I came across RT enabled kernels (e.g. https://packages.debian.org/jessie-b...bpo.1-rt-amd64).
Has anyone tried them? And if yes, is there a real benefit?
I realize the answer could be "it depends". Well, in my case it's mostly casual desktop usage: Firefox, some movies, torrents, some coding, etc.
Cheers, and thanks in advance for any info!
