For game(and software) developers I would guess a stable and consistent platform with a big user base is of most interest, and not some fancy pancy random distro with special needs and mad users.

Now consider the fact that most people have no help on a new install and will simply STOP using Linux when Steam refuses to load up because of this. Linux has probably lost allot of potential users due to this and the driver issues!

Instead of using your system's installed libraries, it downloads the "Steam Runtime", hundreds of megabytes of outdated libraries based on Ubuntu 12.04. That's just bizarre, and causes multitude of issues on up-to-date systems.

I was thinking, why you put so much hate in all of your comments?
You didn't expected that some people like me raising arguments telling you that your opinion is not fully true?
What you think about the distros convergence towards pulseaudio, It's a misstep or they are agreeing that is not so bad at all?
Well, for me with little patience and effort everything will work, sorry if I offended you.
Ps.: It's hard to believe that you are around 40 years old because the way you write...

4 you have a problem to undestand stability issues. What might work with you does not work with 1000 000 other people. You are not a pro sw developer, clearly.
