It's outrageous for Phoronix to be perpetuating this sexist garbage from Eric Raymond. Not only is the implication completely insane (not to mention self-deluded), but Raymond is explicitly secreting this narrative to provoke a "vicious backlash" and "collective punishment".
I read this site to find out about open source graphics drivers and gaming on Linux. Not to hear about sexist conspiracy theories.

It's one thing when he's covering actual discussions about codes of conduct, or longtime contributors actually leaving developer communities. In this case, he's simply perpetuating an anonymous rumor which outright says it could cause a "vicious backlash". That's totally irresponsible.
He even elevates it's significance to "Report" in the headline, rather than alleged IRC conversation, which it's purported to be.
