          What's the meaning of "open" in "open source"? Or it was never "open" to begin with?

            If Torvalds is worried about Russkie spies infiltrating the kernel, I guarantee you those spies don't call themselves Boris Putinov and use a .ru address.....

                  Linus reports to IBM/RedHat and their requirements are now Linux/Linus requirements. As a result today we can officially stop calling the Linux kernel "open".

                  And a large part of the open stack as well, including g-libraries, gnome, wayland and everything hosted on freedesktop.org.

                    It is more likely about compliance with sanctions than espionage.

                    But deleting names of contributers is strange so who knows for sure.
