Well maybe you should follow german politics, just today they enacted a law enabling (regular) police to automatically datamine public sources like facebook etc. And of course they are already asking for more.

Datamining public sources is a must for police and intelligence. If you don't want your profile checked, don't post.

Both of them which makes awesome open source projects!

At least they gave some money to FFmpeg, so I cannot consider that it has a totally bad leadership.
So congrats to them and many thanks for that!
KDE and SUSE would need to go to them not the STF to KDE and SUSE, if they don't register for a grant they aren't gonna get one. I don't know if they tried or not, but that is usually how it is.

S/he hijacked using edgy topic as sarcasm to avoid monotonous topic. Because s/he knows certain loud group, would whine, or kids would call it "copemaxxing"

          And this screenshot is unrelated

Are you sure either organization applied for any of the open categories?

Without such an application is it more as if they have avoided getting funded

And yet you have no problem posting over 3000 times and reading God knows how many posts.

              Imagine if it didn't suck.

I agree with this, it's not just law enforcement and the intelligence community that data mine public sources, it's literally everyone that wants to sell you something.

This effort backed by the German government has provided nearly $25 million USD in open-source funding over the past two years. In this time there has been more than 500 submissions proposing over €114 million in work.
Basically less than one quarter of every Euro requested has been granted.

I guess the usual response is: "No soup for you"!

Or maybe it's: "Only a small bowl of soup for you!"

Some of the things the EU has been getting up to... I worry they'll need to move onto the onions if they want to keep this up without restriction.
