  • Test suites are scaling down CPU frequency?

AMD 5950x, Linux kernel 6.8.x, using amd_pstate scheduler.

Normal CPU speed idles at 3400MHz, and boosts up to 5000MHz. When I run "stockfish" 1.15, the test scales it down to 2800MHz for the test, and it doesn't change for the duration.

I'm pretty I ran version 1.14 in the past and didn't see this issue.

    Thanks.

PTS nor any test profiles are intentionally scaling down CPU frequency or otherwise doing anything to alter the CPU frequency / performance state. Either this is something to do with Stockfish program itself on your CPU or it's some issue with your system like hitting power/thermal limits.
