      Here in middle earth Germany too. In some cases the EU does actually do good things, like forcing Apple to use standard USB connections and many other things across the computer industry. At one point Microsoft had to offer a choice of browsers, without one being installed at default. Not sure why this isn't a thing anymore. What I will tell you is, that if the EU didn't do all of this stuff, it would be probably worse. So I believe the EU makes a difference, it's just we expect more.

      Edit: BTW China is also different to Microsoft. They created Ubuntu Kylin, because Microsoft is a US company.
