The more time passes, the less I appreciate having my git repos controlled by a megacorporation. Guess it's a great excuse to install gitea on my openbsd box!

Just recently, I started pushing my git repositories to 5 different hosting providers. It's an easy thing to do, just work normally on a local clone and push to each named remote instead of a default origin. I think it's a good way to make my code outlive even myself.

Right now I'm using Codeberg as the "home" for my projects, and deactivated the issue tracker on the other repos. But I also like what Sourcehut is doing. These two have the advantage of being located outside the USA.

It often happens that someone’s Google account is suspended for seemingly no reason, and there’s no way to get it back (except for widespread public backlash). I wonder if GitHub is now reaching that point.

Maybe there’s no reason other than a poorly trained and/or tested tool automatically suspending accounts for activity that it deems suspicious. Maybe all logins from Russia are deemed (by that tool) to be suspicious, even if the logins have always come from Russia.

Someone that knows what has been going on in Ukraine for the last 35 years, when the CIA got its greasy fingers on the country, thanks to the traitor Gorbachev!!! It was then that the OUN UPA ( yes, the nazis, the real nazis, no Putin propaganda!! the OUN was founded by Bandera, the head of the Waffen SS in Ukraine!! ) was resurrected and the neocon plan was set in motion.

But ok, the MSM says that everything the Russians ( or even westerners like me that have studied a bit the state of affairs in Ukraine and elsewhere ) say is propaganda and fake...meanwhile we are waiting for Saddam's wmds! And start a serious investigation into Epstein's death ( yeah yeah he killed, than hanged himself, than he broke his bones and the cameras were sleeping and the guards were busy eating donuts ).

Sorry to be so rough, I prefer not to comment on political questions on the web, but seeing how the US and its minions in Europe are spinning this gigantic propaganda stunt, makes me want to puke. After killing millions of people around the world, due to illegal wars based on ridiculous pretexts, they try to play the "knight in shining armor" card again....

Russia has patiently tried for 8 years to solve the question, to the point of embarking in idiotic negotiations that they perfectly knew weren't being conducted in good faith by Putin's "western partners" ( no seriously, what kind of dictator let others make a fool of himself and continue calling them partners for years ). They at least helped Crimea reach its objective of being freed from Ukraine ( yes Crimea was a sovereign State of the USSR and they declared secession before Ukraine, yet Ukraine grabbed them in a legally dubious manner and just annexed the peninsula ) after 24 years fighting in international courts and whatnot.

And here we are, Github ( an US company ) banning someone because he is a "ruskie". Maybe they asked him to put an Ukrainian flag on his profile and write a letter of condemnation of Russia and he refused. I am speculating, by seeing how the witch hunt is going strong, it is entirely possible. And it is shameful, so these the same ones always condemning racism, behaving in a racist way ( and with what vehemence ). After all they are the same ones dressing in black paramilitary clothing and using fascist methods while calling themselves Antifa. And if you follow the money, you reach....but this is an investigation exercise leaved for the reader.

What if it was an existing "account dead-man switch", where the account holder sets up an automated check that, if they for any reason miss (such as, oh I dunno, authorities being jerks), stuff gets locked down automagically?

Or they could not invade their neighboring countries... also nobody said the US-EU-NATO is always right, in fact I think the US involvement in the middle east is stupid as crap, its also needless since we could have supplied our fuel from alternate sources or at least we could now but don't. I'm also against continued heavy funding of Ukraine, I'm not against aid where they need help but also dont' think they should get blank check.

Did you forget they reason why we fought middle east? they deserve never ending nation wide conflict because 9/11 #neverforget. We all had an unquestionable faith in that back then.

Same goes with Ukraine, the reason we destab... I mean, we support Ukraine because "Russia unjustly invade Ukraine" don't you forget that the same way you forgot 9/11.

Don't be a delusional loonatic who believes conspiracy theory like "US cooked up Ukraine war because they need an excuse to cancel newly established Nord stream 2 which is a threat to US economy control over Europe". Both the gas and the war just happened in the same time. Definitely has nothing to do with each other.

Mind you, that I'm siding with Europe. You know, we would rather having energy crisis and a war in front of our doorstep with our neighbor rather than having a connection with the Kremlins. It is in our interest, and definitely not the US.
