Phoronix: Lenovo Begins Supporting LinuxBoot Firmware With ByteDance

This week TikTok-owner ByteDance hosted the CloudFW Open System Firmware Symposium to talk up their open-source firmware work, showcase their industry partnerships, and more. One interesting takeaway is that thanks to the weight of ByteDance, Lenovo is now supporting LinuxBoot in some capacity...

Both Lenovo and Byte Dance are owner by the communist China. This "open" firmware is most likely a hunny pot that aims to take over Western computing.

No, thank you, though. imho Communist China's ByteDance and Lenovo must be rejected by the community.

Presumably won't go anywhere on consumer devices, unless it gets fully embraced by Microsoft...

ByteDance is pretty close to a ban in the US due to TikTok data sharing. So I wonder if this will ever see the light in US?

Basically another way for China Inc. to seperate themselves from the IP of the US.

In the Netherlands and Belgium also pretty close. Belgium banned TikTok within the government now and the Netherlands is preparing a similar ban. So it's only a matter of time before they decide to fully ban it.
