        No, Collabora Office is a real fork, but from Collabora, not TDF and it is used as a base used by the customers of Collabora. It's also a fork in the sense that at certain time points it forks from a LibreOffice stable release, but it never contains anything that is not in LibreOffice master branch. The main purpose of it is to make it independent from the LibreOffice release cycle - can't provide support to customers otherwise. The code is freely available. Other companies have their forks too, for similar reasons.

              Might be worse in many ways, but LO and OO.org aren't particularly agile as applications. Oftentimes a faster option could be a simple markdown document rendered via Pandoc.
