Hopefully the line endings are fixed. Last time I've use wsl it messed them with Windows line endings.

Xserver? Does Wayland still use such?

Hopefully I could use it to test my x-plane linux plugin etc.

Does Defender also scan the Linux stuff?

I do not use Windows because of Windows itself, so I just use a straight Linux distro.

You may have noticed that the Direct X API is documented and that we have multiple implementations of its various versions now. It is not software, it is a specification that on Windows has to be implemented by the various GPU drivers available.

What should Microsoft contribute to Wine? Wine is not a Driver. They could write a Gallium3D driver frontend for it, but no one would care much.

Not even because you're implying Linux is used for all of the mods/cheats etc (when windows is) which isn't anymore helping this situation and not True with said subjects. Good way to reassure the stereotypes to windows developers who believe that **** and a variety of other stupid things.
Correct: it is supposed to reduce Linux to some goofy little program on Windows 10 that becomes meaningless because windows will offer the same Developer functionalities as Linux in turn no reason to use Linux, nothing special here about. This doesn't affect Linux directly BUT in Reality it will give users a false sense of its capability and difference specifically because of running on Windows 10. This is what you call using your dominance in desktop to mask your own flaws against a competitor by running on Windows 10 platform issues mask Linux's stability/pros from the user. I have no idea why they're so Anti-Consumer to the point of blocking out anything better to the extent they can on desktop when they could even actually use it. Unlike other competitors they could financially hurt through Triple E and Lawsuits very swiftly because they were other Businesses. They're just using this to their own advantage....in the wrong way....Most Companies have no intention of providing anything better then Cloud Solutions and on the side you have the Biggest Tech Giant in Desktop only more ensuring Cloud prevails who even created their own Linux Based Azure Cloud os for their Severs because they admitted windows is incapable of doing such things. What they're doing with Linux would only be after they destroyed or bought whatever Businesses Software.
That part doesn't work though because of it being Open Source and not being a Company.
Microsoft is a very Smart ConArtist that specializes in Money,Government,Influence, and Sabotaging. Just by making these moves it implies the competitor is no better then just because to any Average an inevitable lost cause taking moves like this against one that's not makes no sense so it'd surely be the opposite. They're very good at Manipulating and Reverse Psychology and they have the dominance to. I hope Linus Torvalds can see them for what they are, shouldn't underestimate their Smart Stupidity.
Their Goal is being the entire Internet, to be the hypervisors of everything that connects to internet no matter platform. Considering they have a well known Fake Reputation in Technology for actually creating anything, it only betters their Advantages in what I said they Specialize in. They haven't changed in Strategy they've figured out how to take everyone out using the same strategies and using Linux against them in ways. With using Linux but still having proprietary in they could use same arguments for stolen code even though they steal code all the time. Money Wins in a Broken System not better. They literally just bought what made most of the Game Industry for their console. Rubbing the games in everyone's faces for more money that they botched Developments of in certain games cases because bought while in Development cut jobs etc.
            https://www.pcgamer.com/every-game-a...soft-now-owns/
Their commie Employees are in these forums pushing their Dictatorial propagandist Agenda.
I strongly urge Torvalds to kick them out. to seriously, they're seriously not for bettering anything.

If I understood correcty, graphics application that requires 3D acceleration are working using the native Windows driver, right?

Does it mean that possibly those kind of application might work better inside windows that natively in a Linux distro (depending on how the linux support for that specific hardware works)?

It is possible, and if they manage to pull it off it would be hilarious.

i'd rather say that it would be worrysome. In that case there would be much less incentives to run a proper distro instead of using windows and in the long run that will hurt the development of linux desktop solutions and, ultimately, graphics card drivers.

on a less serious side, that would be cheating from Microsoft: they'll be doing EEE skipping the second E

I have no problem with anyone amassing a fortune selling any product.

I have a problem with monopolists who use that fortune to prevent others from even existing.

Microsoft doesn't have a good track record when it comes to competition and using it's financial and market muscles to destroy you.

No, I meant not born yesterday and with a historical memory of all past Microsoft market abuses.
