Phoronix: New Qt Releases Might Now Be Restricted To Paying Customers For 12 Months

Bye KDE. It was nice knowing ya. That is what you get for being just a tech demo for Qt.

Time to switch to the Stand... ahem GNOME.

That said, a 12-month delay on new Qt releases isn't the end of the world for KDE. I'm more annoyed by the end of Qt LTS releases.

Qt doesn't offer the best support for Wayland, HiDPI, Adaptive Sync, Vulkan yet and now they are aggressively asking for money ?
Has Microsoft sent another Stephen Elop to them to take charge of Qt ?
With this crap, I think Qt will be soon the next Nokia.
Blaming Coronavirus for this is stupid, don't they realize, that everyone needs money especially in this period ?

Sounds like a bunch of fucknuts are in charge of the QT Company.

Does this mean that KDE Wayland is possibly another year off since we may not get QT6 anytime soon?

It's their product, they can do whatever they want with it, why are you all so entitled brats? KDE will cope with this just fine.

I don't think desktop Linux is really important for Qt that much.
