Is there any other source for this claim? I tried searching, but didn't find anyone talking about it PS 5 allowing to use Vulkan. If it's a true, it's major milestone and will be a huge blow to DX overall.

That's not really proving anything either. It could be related, sure, but at most it's a conjecture. I'd like to see something official about it.

The Nintendo Switch already uses Vulkan (albeit an early version of it). The PS5 is likely to be based on FreeBSD as was the PS4. The odds are extremely high that the driver is going to be based on the AMD Open Source drivers, with a few tweaks.
