I am frustrated that the people who are asking for more transparency are also the people who slandered RMS
Can I trust people who did harm to someone just because they didn't like him ? Reminder that some of these people went so far that RMS didn't have a place to sleep for a few days, since he literally slept in MIT labs.
Some of these people also work with the "software Freedom conservancy" and that entity also participated in the slander https://sfconservancy.org/news/2019/...-speak-for-us/
Agreed. It hurts a lot of things and mostly it hurts the solidarity of the community. The newest generation of hackers have, from my perspective, have been, to use the terminology of Yuri bezmenov "subversed".
I again agree and to support your opinion I'll share these URLs:
I think RMS is a great role model when you look as his tenacity on the subject of software freedom, he doesn't compromise while being courteous about it and he right to not do so (even tho there are some errors with time).
Other than his work about software freedom I often disagree with his opinion. But what happened to him is more than unjust.
The FSf isn't going apeshit from my point of view, but I observe that it is surrounded by people with very violent behaviors to whoever disagrees with them on almost any subject.
Again good example of that are some of the people in GUIX who asked to oust RMS from GNU.
Some of them calls themselves maintainers while they have abandoned their project, like the maintainer of GNUsocial for example. That same person fled to twitter and began to search for people to harass RMS.
This is reminding me of what happened to Ted Ts'o when he was randomly slandered of being a rape apologist by Sarah Sharp after he refused the new code of conduct at the linux foundation at that time. But wait there's more Ted Ts'o is also the person who refused Inte'ls RDRAND instruction for Linux's RNG and it was later discovered that the NSA made intell add backdoors in these setup to foil encryption and security. And get what ? One of the people who signed the coc works at intel.
See:
ESR warned us more than once about these sort of schemes.
And we can also go on about the new totalitarian pseudo licenses that these group of violent people are trying to push like :
And besides of not being legally enforceable at all they do not respect the four freedoms.
See: https://www.fsf.org/bulletin/2019/fa...-four-freedoms
When was the last time RMS lead anything ? For the past 20 years he has done but to spread what is software freedom around the world, he contributed like that.
He didn't made code. He had no power on how one should code a free software project. He his/was considered as a sort of guardian to what makes free/libre software respectful of one's freedoms.
That is I believe incorrect. They don't need these clicks. They just want money without efforts. If they did their jobs correctly a lot of negative events that have ruined the life of people, like this event, would never have happened.
1:If you want to spread rumors go on [insert social media].
2:Your argument is fallacious.
Since when no fun is allowed ? This means nothing without context and to understand the context you need to know RMS personally, or have read is personal blog for the past two decades.
This is exactly the same argument as "you're not professional enough".
Could you please try to find no nonsensical arguments for your dislike of RMS ?
Be sincere, if you don't like him because he has white skin color say it, if you don't like him because he's male say it, if you don't like him because he has ASD say it, if you dislike him because his father was Jewish then say it. But please bring arguments that can be understood, that are relevant, not only it's a waist of time, but it also encourage paranoia in less experienced people.
Again RMS besides having a veto on a few things didn't do much, besides spreading the word.
I think it is unjust that he was ousted and that it should be corrected.[/QUOTE]
Same here. I have enough of having my "balls crushed" to quote again Yuri Bezmenov.
I have studied the problem and in our actual socio/political/economical/journalistic context it is almost impossible without a lot of funds from the start.
The FSF/GNU took over 30 years to build itself with the help of a lot of good, experienced and more or less wise people from that time. Nowadays trying to find someone who are as dedicated to their principals with enough courtesy is also very hard.
I'll still support the FSF because my discussions with RMS convinced me. But I won't lie that I am going to be careful on how it evolves.
