Phoronix: Dropping Profanity In Kernel Code Comments: Linux Gets "Hugs"

In seeking to comply with the Linux kernel's new Code of Conduct, a patch series has been sent out today replacing profane kernel code comments with "hugs"...

In which case wouldn't it make more sense to censor them manually instead of a simple s/fuck/hug so that context isn't lost?

        Why hugs? Why not euphemisms?

        E.g. fucking > really
        fucked > messed up

So "IOC3 is really messed up beyond belief", that way the meaning isn't lost.

EDIT: actually I'll go one step further and do all the quotes in the article:

"IOC3 is really messed up beyond belief", "Only Sun can take such nice parts and mess up the programming interface like this. Good job guys...", "Really broken ABI", "avoid messing up the memory controller (somehow)", and "We are miserable poor guys..."

Now that's just dumb... Also make the comments confusing...

should time be spent writing better code? no lets spend time removing comments that do not affect the binary because someone might be offended if they read it...

This is where SJWs and dumb politically-correct people are leading us.

This is the beginning of the end for Linux. Seriously, this kind of petty SJW bullshit is what kills entire projects.
