Rocket League in 16.04: 40-60 FPS minimal Details, much stutter
Rocket League in 17.04 144 FPS fixed/capped for Monitor, Maximum Details, very smooth, only explosions will cause a small frame drop
Performance is nearly as good as under Windows. However playing Rocket League online still has a slightly sluggish feeling.
Maybe its the lack of FreeSync support under Linux. FU AMD for not supporting it!

But lets forget about AMD and their drivers. 17.04 is great for gaming on Linux!

Why on Earth are you looking for latest packages in Ubuntu? And then you make it sound like it's Ubuntu's fault.

php 7.1 is still not in Debian testing due to a major bug.
python 3.6 has been in Ubuntu for a while just not the default 'python3'.
Ubuntu is not a GNOME distribution.

But I want it to be in the python3 package, not python36. Else I can't use the new string formatting if I want my scripts to be portable.
Also then I have to change the #!/usr/bin/env python3 shebang in my scripts.

Because on Windows I can have all the latest packages.
Why on Ubuntu I have to settle with less and run old software?
