Phoronix: VIA OpenChrome Driver Has A Roadmap, But Only One Developer

The OpenChrome project has long aspired to having a mainline DRM/KMS driver but that original developer since left. These days OpenChrome is down to basically one developer left working on this open-source driver for VIA x86 graphics hardware...

Isn't it better to just use xf86-video-modesetting instead?

Maybe they could make use of Glamor too?

First they would need a working KMS/DRM driver to use xf86-video-modesetting.

They also can't use GLAMOR until having a working 3D driver.

As we say in Brazil "o buraco é mais embaixo", literally translated as "the hole is deeper", meaning that a problem is more complex as it seems

            You are just killing yourself...

That's a rather weird statement as it assumes that VIA is still alive. Even AMD is a zombie today, VIA is long dead.
