I've lost faith in my post getting through the moderation queue.

Okay so here's what you do:
    1) go to the cgit interface on fdo which is cgit dot freedesktop dot org
    2) scroll down to ~jsindholt/mesa
    You'll see my VERY basic implementation of a D3D9 state_tracker for G3D

HD4870 to play games on WINE at least as good as a 20 year old Nvidia card.

    * A perfect implementation of wine that has no flaws.
    That's it.

    It looks possible
Unless it has full KMS support for my Tandy 1000ex and it's 16 color CGA adapter I'm not interested.

    That's the point.

ATI can dump their binary blob as the open source ATI driver is rapidly moving towards blissful endings.
Nvidia better keep working on that sucker cause there is going to be problems that reverse engineers just can't ever get around.

Getting all parts of nouveau (kernel, drm, mesa,...) into releases so that distros can pick it up. Even if it remains beta quality, at least it wouldn't be such a megahassle to try it out.

From the OS ATI drivers, I would love them to have the power saving capabilities of fglrx.

From the FGLRX stand point, I would like to see XvBA released to the mainstream.
