thats Dukenukemx argument some AMD notebooks give you more play time on battery on that task.
    and you know that because?

You should watch the videos you are using to prove your false claims. The video also contains quite a few benchmarks where the MBP wins.
he only talks about gaming. not youtube video playback... he claims no one buy a 2000€ notebook to watch video on youtube.

if you play x86/directX games the apple M1/M2 looks really poor.

thats the joke about Dukenukemx he and his talk partners never talk about the same.

people say to him look i bought a apple m2 so i can play youtube videos 2 days on battery then Dukenukemx answers to you that you are stupid apple m2 has only 1hour and 30 minutes on battery if you play x86/directX games.

i know it because i did read 20 or more similar forum topics on apple m2 and Dukenukemx

there is a youtube video about this testing this.

Dukenukemx claims everyone need to be a gamer because of this play windows games based on directX as closed source x86 binary is the only what matters. he base all of his argument only on this.

It took 2 years for tech reviewers to even glance at Apple's silicon to see if the claims were true. They are not only incorrect but it's far worse than anyone could imagine. I wouldn't calls Mac OSX usable.

Yeah no shit shirlock, the Apple Air line doesn't have even fan, of course the chip needs to be throttled. Try finding any x86 laptop without a fan that is anywhere close to the performance of the Apple AIR that is the same size, or heck even an M1 with a disabled fan (I own an Apple M1 Pro and the fan has only turned on twice).

Thanks for proving you're basing your opinions on false assumptions. It's the slowest, shit I've ever used with terrible UX. 'Superior hardware design'. You've made my day!

I thought bsd zealots can't stand the fact Apple doesn't give a shit about their favorite OS? And I didn't know Linux is a hardware producer. It seems Apple is for believers:

I recently bought the newest MacBook Air with M1 chip, an upgrade from my very old MacBook Pro which was getting on a bit and had hardly any storage left.

But so far, I am SO disappointed with it - it’s so much slower than my old MacBook and I hardly have anything saved on it yet at all so it shouldn’t be a storage related issue?
                  the answer:

Until Adobe releases M1 native versions of their apps, that's pretty much what I would expect.

Most well written Intel apps will actually run faster on the M1 than they will on a genuine Intel CPU.

"Well written" is the key. Adobe's products are so bloated, it's not at all surprising that they crawl on the M1.
What's funny 212 people up voted this question.

That's using Apple's Media Engine which isn't going to matter once everyone switches over to AV1. Google and Netflix have already made the switch, but for now YouTube defaults to VP9. There's a reason why I ignore certain benchmarks because they will soon be irrelevant. Also, that Media Engine won't work on Linux for a very long time. How long you think it'll be when all those formats will work on Linux through Apple's Media Engine? Get Apple to throw some code or open source their drivers so this process can be done faster.

Ok fine I'll respond to Apple's employee here. Firstly, I didn't say anything about everyone should be a gamer. All I keep saying is that Apple should be held accountable for not opening up their drivers or supporting Linux directly. Other people here claim that gaming doesn't matter and therefore the GPU doesn't matter. Forgetting that UI's, web browsers, CAD, photo editing, and basically anything with visuals will use 3D acceleration. I did say gaming is important because that's one of the top uses people have for computers. That and porn, which may disgust people but it is also correct.

Also pointing out Apple winning one benchmark doesn't mean anything. Especially because again AV1 is now the future, so says Google, Netflix, and Meta. The moment these companies decide to force you to use AV1 is when you move onto the CPU to do the decoding. Quick Google shows 30% CPU load for AV1 decoding on Apple M1, depending on the video of course.
