  • S0ix support for AMD is broken

Many users reported new S0ix state support for AMD hardware does not work as expected. It also breaks the S3 suspension enabled by patching the DSDT table on some devices.

Meh, S0ix is garbage anyways, I changed lid-closed to hibernate. The "broken" S0ix isn't far off from working S0ix - both drain the battery so fast it isn't worth using. S3 suspend is superior to S0ix in every measurable way. At least AMD still offers S3, where intel has disabled S3 entirely. Nobody cares about shaving a few milliseconds off the resume time, whoever invented S0ix deserves a sharp kick to the groin.

This is not just about S0ix, the Kernel 5.11 breaks S3 suspension in almost every AMD Renoir laptop: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/a...30#note_817778
