Many cards won't work on Wayland. You seem to need a recent $2000 computer with the latest graphics adapter that cant be over 2 years old. This is a gross misunderstanding of who Linux users are, who often use Linux to breath life into older computers which still function perfectly.

Integrated Intel graphics from the Ivy Bridge or Broadwell era works perfectly with Gnome, and so does my several year old AMD graphics card. What are you using that doesn't work?

A new release is needed for OpenBSD, NetBSD, FreeBSD, DragonFly BSD, and TrueOS. Maybe other operating systems that use X.Org Server and don't have Wayland.

you can run any hardware supported on linux. novideo shit isn't. and if you use some alternative broken desktop then you can't accuse wayland of its issues

And that's the real reason we're all doomed. GNOME is a trap in it's current form, until competition becomes a lot stronger and forces everyone to move forward.

Small projects are cool and innovative, but they're weak.

KDE is a cool experiment, but needs stronger support and better stabilization.

The rest are nice, but maybe too specialized for mainstream.
