I don't know if the VDPAU backend for VA-API would work in this case. Even if it did, it's probably limited to H.264.

is always justified and backed by undeniable facts, for example see this video:

It's one of the most popular browsers. Doesn't matter anyhow. These days, one could ask the some question of Chrome / Edge support.

Some of the largest webcam porn sites depend on Flash, e.g. chaturbate.

                It's well-known information.

Also well-known information that on Linux it has no hardware acceleration

I see one main moron who's definitely more on than off. Anyway, thanks for coming down from the ivory tower and enlightening us with your sage thoughts and showing us what good conversation looks like. Stop by again.

No it's not. Firefox has supported HW accelerated videos via Flash for eternity. Nowadays it also has GPU accelerated WebRender component. I'm only using Firefox, not studying its internals. I know that many parts of the rendering pipeline are accelerated and even video decoding can be offloaded. What I don't know is whether it's 100% accelerated. Maybe requires this DMABUF. Chrome, OTOH, has long supported hw accelerated video. Again I don't know the names of the internal techniques, but many people have been successful with technology such as Pipelight DRM.

Can't view any videos without proprietary flash plugin.
