Maybe these modules have been completed and are very stable as of now?

By the way, we do use XRandR and XKBComp/Utils.

well, given XAA acceleration was removed many years ago, those drivers are actually not too interesting anymore. I wish X.org would retained the outstanding support they had back a decade ago and not sacrifice the infrastructure just because this thousands lines of code are not used by modern cards anymore. I could test my latest Rendition Vérité vintage / retro / ebay find though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUnK_HCPzqI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1ii0ZrPg2Q but again, the test would only "if it still works at all" without XAA acceleration the performance will be less amazing than it was in 1998 :-/

Even with acceleration, it won't be as amazing as are the worst current iGPUs... Not really worth it to support unused and slow and old HW.

While it is still interesting to preserve history and research, some users may actually still have them, either in poorer countries or for vintage / retro gaming and such. It's pity the once well working code was deleted like this. If this would been Windows everyone would be crying how Microsoft can remove support and compatibility for older hardware (which they did also Since Windows Vista^W 7 or so).
