    Unfortunately Wayland under Ubuntu 17.04-dev is less than stellar.

    Logging into Weston or GNOME from LightDM doesn't work.
    GNOME Terminal is outdated and still at 3.20 not, 3.22, it's buggy and have a messed up shadow.

    Firefox and Chromium either don't yet support Wayland or isn't built with it, so you have to run it through XWayland.

      2017 will be the year wayland gives to linux distros its full power.

        I would not expect Ubuntu to improve it's support of Wayland (read: none) any time soon. If you want to see what Wayland is capable of, you are going to need to jump to another distro. Might I suggest Fedora.
