Agree so much. Honestly I don't know why anyone hasn't written a pure-Rust wayland client etc. I got 2/3 of one done in a weekend. It's pretty disappointing.

Sorry, does closet mean bench or trunk somewhere? It's just what that image is showing me.
A closet is a mini-room where clothes hang up or junk is stored.
Like, I get that many bathrooms are small and closet-like, I just meant the whole "water" part of "water closet" felt silly to me, like you took your closet and just filled it up with water. It sholud be like... the toilet-room :P - bathroom works for me since in America the bath or shower is always in the same room as the toilet, but I hear that's not true everywhere.

Ok, you need a more explicit image. (not in that sense) Versailles, king's WC: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...75bf1440fd.jpg (from here, that %&%$ pininterest site I cannot get to show only ONE image at the time https://www.pinterest.com/pin/123849058478508473/ )
There were other similar designs (for rich people anyway) but I can't find images of them, as apparently the WC isn't something you showcase when you put online photos of a castle or mansion or whatever to attract visitors.

And yes, French managed to keep the tradition alive, I've seen way too many toilets inside a wardrobe when I went to France.

When I hear water closet I think of this (Right center, with the wood seat and cabinet about 5ft above the seat): https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F...634423921).jpg

That said, I wasn't alive when "Water Closets" were in common use, I honestly don't know what it actually refers to. Your water closet seems more plausable.
