Google Chrome 50 Released With Wayland Support

When I saw Google Chrome, I was thinking about the browser which can be downloaded from https://www.google.com/chrome/ and was "Oh nice, I can get oob wayland support now. But those packages aren't built with wayland support, despite the code being available in the chromium source.

Perhaps it would appear in the next Google Chrome release.

I doubt that, because my guess is that it's being built on Debian stable, which doesn't have a recent enough version of Wayland.

Yes, but if would be Wayland compatible i wouldnt need 2 branches, one for Wayland and one for X.

i presume you mean x compatible. x compatible is x, and it is broken. if you could fix x, you wouldn't need wayland. you only need 2 branches if you are using x directly, but then it is your own problem. use x via toolkit and you will not need 2 branches, toolkit will handle it

no program is feature complete ever
if it has not enough features for you, then you do not use it yet
it has enough features to be used by production smartphones and cars
it has enough features to run gnome login screen in production distros
soon it will have enough features to run full gnome session
idiots could still build their custom x server
