                From what I've read on the subject, there is no such thing as a "real" minimize. Either a window is at the top of a canvas or it's not. It's up to a window manager to determine how to represent the canvas to the user. Even the desktop background is a "window" of sorts. It sits on top of the canvas, so minimize could just be as simple as putting the desktop on top of the window. Even if there are other windows on top of the desktop.

                  Are you really going to drop by in every fucking wayland related thread and ask about minimizing without even trying to educate yourself on that matter? Weston supports minimized clients if clients (toolkits or simply clients using wayland protocol directly) implement support for it for almost a year now.
