How can it be that Kristian never said why he stopped working on Wayland?

Who cares? Michael could also do well with ceasing the unnecessary mystification of Kristian's departure by mentioning lack of reasons at every turn

But that wouldn't be sensationalizing, would it?

Wayland 1.7 's features are a mystery. Kristian's quiet departure from Wayland is also a mystery. Wayland managed by an ex-canonical dev, mysterious. I'm getting chills. Somebody check out the Wayland dev crew - they might be zombies by now.

sensationalizing? or troll baiting? sometimes i just want to enable AddBlock when seeing things like this. why should anyone get paid for stirring flame war since doing otherwise would say conduct like that is supported?

He is working on uber misty stuff for intel. Top secret stuff.

Seriously i believe the answers are: a) Wayland IS ready. b) They (intel) don't pay him for something they don't care (desktop/remote which are already semi ready and can be handled by the rest). c) has nothing else to add to the protocol.

If I understand correctly materials from patches, 1.7 is not that big change above 1.6.

Just a few tweaks in protocol to optimize things a bit more for smooth playback of video players etc.

will the xdg-shell be included by default in this release?
