    Yey! I guess...
What does this mean exactly? Will Wayland be available "for use" in the next coming months?

It is available for use, the problem is that its users are still being developed: KDE5, applications, etc.

Almost all Gnome GTK+ work and Gnome 3.12 target to have a complete Wayland port. In Gnome 3.10 mutter-wayland already works well together with XWayland.

As already stated, you can use it, but in addition to already mentioned issues, the proprietary graphic drivers from NVIDIA (and AMD?) still needs EGL support.

expanding on your comment, you can use wayland with gpu-drivers:
            Intel: yes
            Nouveau: yes
            AMD open-source: yes
            AMD Catalyst: no
            Nvidia: no

GNOME and E18 work beautifully on Wayland, well, as far as possible at least. Needs some work but useable for daily testing use it is. Count in XWayland and you can run X apps to an extent.

Don't know for gnome but E18 cannot opperate as a standalone WL compositor. E19 can do it at least in theory. AFAIK noone has it working on HW. (there are screenshots of it running nested) Except maybe the devs.
