    I don't know very much about the internals of Android, but the SurfaceFlinger/Skia superficially resembles very much the Weston/libwayland/cairo concept.

    Why don't they?

    Why don't they just use the Android display server on Linux distributions instead of X.org or Wayland?

    Why create Wayland when there is some display server on Android?
    I don't think Android uses X.org, it probably has its own display server.
