    While it is good to see that the Mir code base didn't go to waste, I just wonder which alternative desktops have embraced Mir as their go to Wayland compositor. I never hear anything about Mir outside of Canonical related news.

      They probably have customers that are using this or will use this. If you want to build some sort of custom automation system / infotainment system / kiosk / advertisment board / etc, then build it on Ubuntu with Mir and Snaps, that will be the marketing message, probably. I can't imagine they're doing this for the fun of it.
