Oh I totally see a noose on their logo after looking it up.

Drupal was the only other project I saw use a water drop, and it actually looks like a drop: https://www.drupal.org/

Hyprland's is too-thick towards the lower half. If nobody on their art team nor even a dev, let alone anyone on the project never saw a noose in that design or thought to question having that as the logo, that's wacky.

I've used it for the last 6 months, something like that, with archlinux minimal + hyprland.
And I like it very much.
    Used i3 and sway before.

Hyprland is the best thing that happened to the linux desktop since Xorg!

    And before you say it!

    I know.

    Hint: it took 18 comments

    Also:
Wayland compositors should not be confused with Xorg window managers.

What did you expect? This is Phoronix after all.

Having said this, Hyprland looks pretty cool! It's fun going through their repositories, I'll definitely try this out.

[edit: The following refers mainly to luckily now removed content - thanks! I'd delete it as well, but then the posts refering to this one don't make sense. so I'll just make the type smaller and put it at the end ]

Viewing this thread makes me uneasy. I think the first time ever I flagged a post as trivialising racism and murder. Not really what I expected in a rather technical open source forum with so many valuable contributions and members I do look up to. I was confused to see that no one felt the same. However, I then realized that there may be many who feel the same. Possibly even the majority. After all, I myself only silently flagged the post and otherwise left no trace. So, this is what I intend to do here. Leaving a little trace for others. I don't really care if the obvious provocateurs see a reaction as confirmation of their success. It is not. Silence would be. If anyone else is appaled by the trajectory of "jokes"... you're not alone.

Why they need to attack you, and why it gets upvoted so heavily is beyond me.

I'd love to try hyprland but the people it attracts are terrible for some reason.
Well, sometimes you need to work with people who you don't agree with.

Popularize what with killjoys? Encourage or discourage the killjoy? You didn't specify which. That post is like a TV commercial for Proposition 2 and I'm not sure what a yes or a no vote actually does.
