It's crazy that floating mode is basically feature complete on Hyprland. (and they are reaching DE territory with the various hypr things, someone even made a gui control panel for it)

When Hyprland becomes stable & not buggy in 2040, I'll consider using it again, until then labwc, sway my good old friends..

Competition is good. But still I'm waiting for COSMIC DE, although his is interesting.

Hyprland is consistently a really cool project that just isn't aimed at me, so I'll never use it. But I'm glad it exists for those that do use it, as it seems to do a lot of things really well in the space it's in.

Why does their logo look like a noose?

I don't want to know what goes on in the machinations of your mind to see a noose over say, a water droplet or something.

Unironically the two projects are in a pretty similar state of readiness right now.

I just got Hyprland 0.45 with an Arch upgrade. It added a 'Hyprland (systemd session)' entry to my GDM sessions list, in addition to just 'Hyprland'. When I try and launch as the former, it just pops me back into GDM - have not figured out yet what it is for. I mentioned in a recent post looking to stick with Sway for my minimalist environment, but gave Hyprland another spin, this time with Waybar and Fuzzel. Not going to lie, I like it a lot and becoming my "go to" right now.

And yes, always saw the logo as a water droplet

I had to look up the Hyprland logo and, while a noose isn't my first impression I can see how someone can see the resemblance. My first impression was some kind of washer or clip that requires specialty pliers...

And I thought I had posted some of the most edgey comments on Phoronix.
