Phoronix: Blumenkrantz Proposes Workflow Improvements For Wayland Protocols

It's been a busy week for Valve Linux graphics software engineer Mike Blumenkrantz. Besides hacking on Mesa's Zink OpenGL-on-Vulkan driver implementation, this week his latest target was working to help accelerate the pace of Wayland protocol development. He's been working through a few proposals like addressing NACK usage for how Wayland protocols can be rejected and in ending out the week he has drafted some additional workflow improvements...

Yo dawg, we heard you were having an issue with protocols being too slow to implement so we implemented a protocol to help your protocol implement protocols faster.

I mean Warcraft 3 made a game within the game, to let other people make games in the game. Created Dota that Blizzard fought with Valve in court.

The GNOME / RedHat tumor will agree to some changes and might merge the fifo protocol, just to please the crowd.... and then slowly go back to their NACK sabotage again.

The cause of the problem needs to be addressed. Kicking out that one NACK Gnomie was a good step, but it isn't enough. There are more where he came from.
Either beat them into submission, or get rid of them all, or fork.

Did they actually kick somebody out, or is this about the guy who "NACK"ed a couple times without even being a voting member?

Gnome developers truly need to be sidelined entirely: having to read through their atrocious arguments throughout the various protocol discussions has been arduous.

Yes, i meant that Gnomie who kept NACK everything, besides not actually having the right to do so, and then saying that he will make sure that things get NACKed and made other Gnomies do so.

Somehow that Gnomie was allowed be a pest throughout all freedesktop projects. But if any other non-member joins in, they get immediately told to STFU.... by a guy who is a Gnome developer

Since when? Jonas Ådahl is a member.

At least get your facts straight prior to engaging in your hate trolling crusade, will you?

I never implied that Jonas Ådahl is Sebastian Wick.
Jonas Ådahl is a Gnomie who stalls the project and tells non-members to STFU, while he tolerated Sebastian Wick (also not a member, but another Gnomie) toxic ridiculous behaviour and defended it.

I posted Jonas as yet another example of the Gnome tumor.

Sebastian Wick got banned, his best friend Jonas has to be next. It's time to take them out.

Re: the attached screenshot: The suggestions either are just duplicating what's already covered by the proposal, or just don't really make much sense. For example, "Vendor extensions" are already covered by the `ext` namespace. While I'm sure the commenter meant well, it's clear they don't have a good grasp of the current system, so wide-reaching "structure it like [other org]" suggestions just aren't really useful. Could Jonas have made his comment clearer? Sure. Is he another swick? Not even close.

To be very honest/blunt, your comment is significantly more inflammatory than the one you are criticizing. We're all passionate about this stuff (otherwise why would we be on these forums), but it's very easy to have passion turn to inflammation. (Trust me, I've been there.)
