Idk, what's GNOME doing bad with Wayland, I tried so many times and always had bad results. KDE Plasma runs very well and new 5.24 release have big performance uplift for Wayland. This is my results on Intel Xe.

I believe the first Plasma release to support Wayland actually predated Gnome first release with Wayland support but Gnome's support has been better over the years. I have no experience using Qt or Gtk but I've always heard of issues in software stemming from bugs in Qt. It gives me the impression that it's just altogether buggier.

Qt is a massive framework which currently mostly suffers from being undermaintained. For a good Wayland experience you need a de-facto fork of Qt5 that is maintained by a handful of KDE guys. The fact that Plasma is now mostly usable under Wayland helped to move things along a lot though. Maybe with 5.25 and a few more Qt5 fixes it will be possible to recommend Wayland as the default display system for Plasma.

Wanting the best in-game performing and most stable Wayland shell? No! What you need is adaptive sync.

If you game using Linux, it is debatable if you should be allowed to call yourself a gamer too tho I mean, JoeBob on his Dell $200 "gaming laptop" using Linux is not "a gamer" just because he owns 4 games on Steam...

How many serious e-sport gamers fiddle for hours on end with various custom patches to get whatever version of gnome/kde/"insert name here" to work, let alone wine/proton/fsync kernel patches and who knows what to get some sort of usable experience to play in a tournament? I dont think i need to grow more fingers to count those

AMD cards performance on linux are increadible compare to Nvidia. If MSRP were the standard price like it used to be, the perf/$/watt is totally in favor of AMD. And ok Raytracing is nice, but the performance cost of such option is kind on unhealthy. We would need to have GPU twice more powerfull for the price to be able to activate it at high resolution. Only a 3090RTX can max out cyberpunk 2077 with RT at 1080p 60fps+ I think resterization is more usefull right now and always a better option if you have medium range gaming computer. In general activating raytracing with no DLSS has the same performance hit as upscaling 1080p to 4K with DSR FSR...

Stupid analogy. Most of the E-sport games are an arcade crap. They're more like a ping pong while other games are more like football. PUBG is an exception.

Well I guess the point is, and as Linus (from LinusTechTips) showed in his Linux videos there is insane potential for Linux to become an actual video gaming platform its just hitting one of those many thorns that Linux has.

I mean around a decade (or more) ago I wouldn't even recommend Linux for general use, now its somewhat plausible since Linux has improved massively. Honestly the biggest issue for general use right now is the transitions to Wayland/PulseAudio (this one is quite seemless though).
