Do all these fixes going into standalone XWayland releases also make it into Xorg?

So let's say the next release of Xorg comes out then all distributions not shipping the standalone XWayland package would also benefit of being able to use nVidia's GBM backend.

Does anyone know how to set cool bits for NVIDIA cards with wayland? or know how to overlock with NVIDIA and wayland?

XWayland is part of X.Org, so yes.

However, this change only affects the XWayland part of it, which means no changes in X.Org land.

Yes GBM, KMS are two required parts. Yes the third to EGL feature EGL_MESA_query_driver so the cards supported by the graphics drivers don't have to be listed in X.org.

The next potential release of xorg will not include xwayland. Distros wont be able to choose between the standalone xwayland release and the xorg release because they wont contain overlapping components.

You can't, among many other things.

XWayland an Xorg are totally seperate Packages, so ya gonna get different updates for each one.

there's more Development going into XWayland than there is of Xorg, so i cant see that happening
