    Is Mir like wlroots?

Because you can use wlroots for the same purpose? So how are these similar or different?

wlroots i a library, similar to mutter, that you'd build a display server/window manager with.

Mir is becoming a Wayland display server in its own right that's not tied to any DE/WM.

It's a display server. The website has examples: https://mir-server.io/

It's like wlroots and Sway, or Weston and libweston.
It's a Wayland display server and library for making compositors at the same time.
