And my post was a joke, as I made clear with the wink emoticon.

Rant-time. I'll be honest, I'm utterly disappointed with Sway. I'm looking at it not as a user, but also as a possible contributor, who wants an i3 replacement in Wayland.

Sway is a modern project which — surprise! — written in C, and also infested with global variables. And on top of it, it lacks any test suite, because the creator didn't like existing ones, so he decided no to have any.

As a result, there's no way to catch any regressions whatsoever. And sure regressions are coming! E.g. just some minutes ago swaybar had crashed after waking up my laptop from suspend. I mean, it's to be expected when you have written a big project in a lang with weak type system, and didn't put any test suite whatsoever.

    I mean, it's a life, but I frustrated.

With this beta it should also be possible to run Firefox Nightly (w/o webrender/acceleration, since there are still several breaking bugs in combination) directly on Wayland/sway via `GDK_BACKEND=wayland /path/to/firefox`. Apart from occasional display issues (menu rendering, resizing, HiDPI - the typical pain points) and some integration bugs (e.g. external links opening an XWayland instance of the browser) the experience is quite stable.

Eh, still no per-window keyboard layout.

That's a good reason for me to try it out.
